Virtual Program - Famous LGBTQ Artists

7:00 PM - 8:00 PM

Event Details

Artists from outside societal norms of sexuality have impacted art for centuries. From Renaissance geniuses such as Leonardo and Michelangelo, to artists of the present day, their contributions have been extraordinary. Until recently, most of these artists had to conceal their true identities, but more contemporary figures like David Hockney, Bradford Delauney, Catherine Opie, Keith Haring and others have used their art as a tool for social and political change.

Join lecturer Suzanne Altman as she explores the lives, works and impact of famous LGBTQ artists in this presentation, in honor of Pride Month.

Suzanne Altman is an art educator and art historian; she is also a painter who works out of her studio and art school in Ossining, NY and exhibits frequently.
