Event Details

Angela Juffey, Secretary of the Central Jersey Beekeepers Association, takes the audience on a Honey Bee journey – from its appearance in North America to the current status of Honey Bees today.  Discover the social structure of this organism and how it continues to impact the prosperity of our earth.  Learn some of the basics of Beekeeping, view the inside of a live hive and step through the method of harvesting honey.

You’ll even get to create your own Milkweed Seed Balls to take home for the Honey bees and Monarchs and discover more ways that you can become a pollinator protector.

After teaching for 37 years at Eisenhower Middle School in Freehold Township, Angela retired in 2014 and began Beekeeping, presently serving as Secretary of the Central Jersey Beekeepers Association. In 2017, she received her certification as a Rutgers Monmouth County Master Gardener.
