4:00 PM - 5:00 PM

Event Details

From Cerberus, of ancient Greek mythology, to the war dogs, pets, and hunting dogs of Rome, Mike Norris will guide us as we look at examples in Classical art to learn how man’s best friend preserved the life, limb, and property of his master.

This is a hybrid event! This event will take place in-person outside in the courtyard at the Woodbridge Main Library. If you do not feel comfortable attending the event in-person we will also be streaming the event via Zoom. If extreme weather is expected the day of the event (heavy rain, excessive heat, or a serious storm) the event will revert to being completely virtual via Zoom.

Mike got his BA in classics from the University of California at San Diego and his MA in classics and Ph.D. in art history at the University of California at Santa Barbara. He spent twenty years at the Cloisters Museum and the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York and has lectured on trips all over the world. He lives in Teaneck, New Jersey.
