The Consumer Outreach Unit
, a critical component of the New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs, is responsible for education and promoting awareness of scams targeting New Jersey residents, and implementing the Division’s mission and goal to protect New Jersey’s residents from becoming victims of various frauds.
Consumer Outreach educates hundreds of groups yearly, particularly those most vulnerable to scams and fraud. These at-risk groups include seniors, veterans, job seekers, disaster victims, non-English speaking people and many other New Jersey residents that might find themselves being targeted by scam artists.
